My finance professor once said that if a genie ever shows up, we should wish for the ability to accurately predict revenue. On the other hand, costs require no such magic.
However, since I found no genie:
1) Plan your costs diligently
2) Determine what revenue would you need
3) See where reality lands -> adjust accordingly
